The Graveyard Shift

The Graveyard Shift is a solo or multi-player tabletop roleplaying game that uses journaling and map-making game play to explore topics of grief, death, and community. 

You play the role of a cemetery custodian. You are the new keeper and manager of a cemetery in the small town that you grew up in. The cemetery has been around long before you were born and will likely still be around long after you yourself are dead.

Among you are the stories and lives of countless once-living people, as well as the ongoing stories and lives of their loved ones, the members of the community, and yourself. Over the course of the game, you will explore these stories and craft a narrative that navigates grief above all.

You will document your 4-year graveyard shift through a log. Each time you draw a card, you add an entry based on the prompt that corresponds to the drawn card. With many of the prompts, you will also add to your cemetery map, adding in tombstones of the notable dead, trees, acts of vandalism, etc. 

Uses a standard deck of cards to decide the prompts.
